Third Principle

Tools That Are Adapted to Each Region’s Development

In an effort to support the regions’ development, the government will implement programs that are adapted to each region. Among others, these incentives could lead to:

Revising regional poles of excellence and targeted support for these sectors

Allowing municipalities to diversify their revenues

Promoting the arrival of recent graduates, residents of major urban centres or companies that establish themselves in the regions

Encourage the establishment, transfer and takeover of businesses in the region

Reducing transportation costs associated with regional remoteness

Supporting research, development and innovation in a manner adapted to each region

Some questions to feed your thinking:

Which are the main obstacles to regions’ economic development and of your region in particular? Are tax incentives likely to solve this problem?
